Black Forest Cupcakes
Again I am working on new flavors of cupcakes and testing and testing and testing them to see which ones I like, which ones I hate, and which ones need work… etc.
So last weekend it was Black Forest Cupcakes! Yum! 🙂
Here is how I made them:
1 Box Chocolate cake mix (yes for right now I’m using boxed cake mix to safe a little money and time)
About 5 spoonfuls of cherry pie filling
2 tablespoons of canned cherry juice
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Mix the Cake Mix according to the directions on the box. Add the cherry pie filling ,cherry juice
and chocolate chips. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes. Cupcakes will kind of deflate a little.
Once cooled use a piping bag with white frosting to pipe a border around the edge of the cupcakes. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes, until the frosting is a little stiff. Fill the middle of the frosting well with cherries from the pie filling.
Here are the cute little cupcake boxes that I got at the dollar store! Trying them out 🙂
