Chili Cheese Dip and Mozzarella Biscuit Bombs

All of our plans went like they were suppose to & I’m in Nashville right now with my future sister in law, Meghan, and her friend Brittany! I’ve got our trip planned out!

I’ve got a list of places to visit and a list of places to eat at haha. I think we’re going to have the best time. I mean, I love traveling and I love these two girls so I can’t imagine why we wouldn’t have a blast!!

I’m a little nervous just because I’ve never been to Nashville. I love, love, love to go to new cities but I have to admit that I’m always nervous and excited all at the same time when I visit a new city. However, give me a few days there and you’ll think that I’ve lived there for years haha.

When we went to Honolulu the other year, it was my first time there but even now, I can tell you exactly where to eat, how to get to places and what to do.

I make it my business to get to know the places I visit.

I’m sure that Nashville will be the same way. I just wish that we were going to be staying longer!! Perhaps I’ll be able to go back and visit one day again with Thomas.

I wish that Thomas could travel as much as I do. He’s never been a big traveler and traveling runs in my blood. I have a feeling that I was a gypsy in another life 😉

Don’t get me wrong, he loves to travel when we actually get to go places together, he just doesn’t live to traveling like I do. He’s content with staying home and traveling once a year or so. I’m the exact opposite. I want to travel all the time, however being away from him and the pups hurts my heart and that right there keeps me coming home. <3

Chili Cheese Dip and Mozzarella Biscuit Bombs

So today while I’m miles away from home and in Tennessee, I’m going to share these Chili Cheese Dip and Mozzarella Biscuit Bombs. I’m sharing them with y’all because they’re something that I know Thomas loves. Plus, it’s something that I think that y’all would love too! Sharing a little bit of home while I’m away. Yep, that’s how we’re going to do things today.

Chili Cheese Dip and Mozzarella Biscuit Bombs

For the dip part of these Chili Cheese Dip and Mozzarella Biscuit Bombs I used a chili dip recipe that Thomas started making years ago.

A few years back he came home from work talking about a Texas Pete Chili Dip that one of his co-workers told him about.

He went out and bought what he needed for it, came home, made it and hasn’t stopped making it since then haha. I took this favorite dip and turned it into this after I got a little inspiration from my friend Crystal over at Mrs. HappyHomemaker.

Chili Cheese Dip and Mozzarella Biscuit Bombs

I saw Crystal making Chili Cheese Pigs in the Blanket Dip one day over on her Snap Chat and the wheels in my mind started turning! I kind of mashed together Thomas’ Chili Dip, Crystal’s Chili Cheese Pigs and my Ham and Cheese Monkey Bread  all together to make this. haha

Chili Cheese Dip and Mozzarella Biscuit Bombs

Mix, Bake, Dip, Repeat! I bet that you’re going to love this! I mean come on, who wouldn’t love cheesy biscuits dipped into cheese chili dip?!

Ps. you just might want to bake up some extra biscuits or have some chips handy for dipping. You’re gonna wanna scoop up as much dip as possible!

Chili Cheese Dip and Mozzarella Biscuit Bombs Cheese Chili Dip covered in a layer of perfectly baked mozzarella stuffed biscuits! Mix, Bake, Dip, Repeat! You're gonna really dig this dip!

  • Prep Time: 15m
  • Cook Time: 30m
  • Total Time: 45m
  • Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 cans (10 oz each) chili sauce (hot dog chili)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (I used Colby Jack)
  • 1 can regular refrigerated biscuits
  • 1/2 pound fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes (about 1/2 inch to an inch)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375F.
  • Open the refrigerated biscuits and cut each biscuit into 4 pieces.
  • Place a cube of Mozzarella into the center of a piece of biscuit.
  • Fold up the sides and the edges until the cheese is enclosed in the dough. Roll each piece of biscuit and cheese in the palm of your hand until a ball forms.
  • Continue until all the biscuits and cheese have been used.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, chili and shredded cheese.
  • You may need to heat the mixture up in the microwave to make sure it mixed smoothly.
  • Pour the chili mixture into the skillet.
  • Top with the biscuit bombs.
  • Sprinkle the biscuits with the Italian seasoning.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until biscuits are done.
  • Check them after 15 minutes and if they look like they\'re getting too brown, lay a piece of foil over them while they continue to bake so that you don\'t burn the tops.

OMG….I don’t even know what to say. Is it acceptable to eat this as a meal? I mean, it represents all the food groups so I’m good, right?

    Hi,
I have read this twice and am a bit confused. The ingredients are listed twice and I was just wondering if that was a type-o or if I just didn’t understand the directions. Please advise as I would love to make these soon.
