Chocolate Strawberry Poke Cake

I’ve been in love with poke cakes since the first time I heard about them.

Soft cake that’s been soaked in tasty pudding and topped with whipped cream! What’s not to love?!

While I’ve made many poke cakes over the years, I’m super excited to share this one with y’all today. You know that Funerary is all about LOVE, not only is Valentines Day coming up but some of y’all know that Thomas and I just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary.

What kind of desserts screams “LOVE”? Well anything chocolate and strawberry! At least that’s how it is for me.

Chocolate Strawberry Poke Cake

When our wedding anniversary rolls around each year with Valentines close on it’s heels I always start coming up with tons of Chocolate and Strawberry desserts. I don’t know if it’s because of the red heart shaped chocolate boxes that I got as a kid or chocolate dipped strawberries but this flavor combo is one of my favorites!

Chocolate Strawberry Poke Cake

So for this Chocolate Strawberry Poke Cake you’re going to want to start with my favorite, amazing chocolate cake recipes, bake it up, let it cool and then poke holes into it with a wooden spoon.

YEP! Get it!? It’s a POKE CAKE. haha.

Then you cover the cake with homemade strawberry pudding and let the pudding fill up those cake holes. Chill the cake for a bit and then you just need to add some sliced strawberries.

Lastly, top this Chocolate Strawberry Poke Cake with a nice thick layer of homemade Crème Chantilly and you’re done!

I would suggest letting this sit in the fridge until it’s super cold before serving too! It’s so good. If you like chocolate and strawberry together this is going to be one of your new favorites.

I”m not much of a pudding person, but love the idea of the strawberry flavor infused into the chocolate cake. Such a great Valentine’s Day idea!

Meet Angie

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
