We all know that I love Halloween, I even have an entire blog dedicated to it!) It is also safe to say that I have a strong love for the Dollar Store and DIY items as well! Let’s put those loves together and make a Dollar Store DIY Black Flame Candle! If you don’t know what the Black Flame Candle has to do with Halloween, I suggest taking an evening and watching Hocus Pocus! I love that movie and I’ve got my fingers crossed that you will too.
How to make a Dollar Store DIY Black Flame Candle:
First you’ll need to print out this Black Flame Candle label. I made it and turned it into a PDF so all you need to do is print it out and cut it out.

Then you’ll need to grab a black candle. I found this one at the Dollar Tree. Now you may notice that in my photo of my candle that the glass is painted black. That’s only because dumb dumb me left it in the trunk of my car and it melted all over itself, the mod podge and the bag. Which made the outside of the candle look grey instead of black.
So instead of driving back to the dollar store for another candle, I just painted it black. However, the candle, before it melted was a perfect black for the project.
You can also find Mod Podge at the Dollar Store! I love that because sometimes I just need a small amount of Mod Podge for a project and BOOM – $1!
Brush a layer of mod podge onto the front of the candle. Make sure the layer of mod podge is roughly the same size as the label.
Attach the label to the candle and paint another layer of mod podge over the label.
Let candle dry completely and you’ve got yourself a Hocus Pocus “Black Flame” candle Halloween decoration!
I’ve got mine on my mantel and I just love it!
*Mod Podge is non-flammable BUT I would recommend using a candle in glass if you plan on burning it. If it’s just for looks then it will be fine to mod podge the label right onto the candle
