This Easter Ice Cream is made in less than 10 minutes, freezes in about 5 or 6 hours and it doesn’t require an ice cream machine!
I meant to have this ready to be published early, early this morning but I was just so tired last night that I couldn’t hold my eyes open long enough to finish writing this. I’m guessing that’s because I woke up super early yesterday morning and I didn’t stop moving and doing stuff until like 9pm haha. Thomas is the morning person around here and once he realized that I was awake he convinced me that we should go out to breakfast. Normally on Sundays he goes out and picks up breakfast for us and brings it back to the apartment but nope, not yesterday….I had to get dressed (in my yoga pants and hoodie haha I mean come on your asking too much of me lol) and went out into the city with him.
After breakfast and grocery shopping the rest of the day involved recipe testing, photography and getting this post/recipe ready for you.
I’ve been so excited to share this Easter M&M Ice Cream with y’all since I made it but since I already had some other things scheduled to be posted on the blog, I had to wait a bit. However, since this is the week before Easter, this seems like the perfect time to share it!
I’ve always been a fan of ice cream. I have great memories of walking to Bubba’s (the local ice cream place) with my friends and family when I was little, it was a few streets up from the house and we’d all walk up in the evenings during the summer.
I worked a little ice cream shop called Janice’s by the airport when I was in college, my boss use to tell us that it was good for the soul to have ice cream at least once a day, which was ok with me since we got ice cream for free. haha
A few years ago, I started making ice cream at home. I liked it but I didn’t make much of it because at the time I was using an ice cream machine to make it and while it was pretty easy, I found that I would always forget to freeze the bucket piece beforehand or I’d have to move a bunch of stuff in the freezer to make room for this giant ice cream bucket after making it and it just became a pain.
I would make ice cream 1 or 2 times during the summer and then I was done. After that I was like, “You want ice cream? We’ll just buy it.” haha
But now that I’ve discovered this no churn ice cream that doesn’t require a machine I’ve been in ice cream heaven all over again! I first read about this ice cream over on the blog “Our Family of Seven”.
Jen made this super cute No Churn Cookie Monster Ice Cream and I just thought it was the cutest ice cream ever. I loved it even more when I realized how easy it was to make. I decided that I needed to put my own little spin on this ice cream idea!
So this is the 2nd flavor version of this non churn ice cream that I’ve made so far and I can’t wait to make a ton more for the blog.
I made a Batman Banana Chocolate Ice Cream that will be on the blog on Friday but this Easter M&M ice cream is the latest beauty to take up residents in my freezer.
When I want to make this ice cream, I just need to pull out a pint of heavy cream, a can of sweetened condensed milk and whatever flavors add ins I want. After that, it takes less than 10 minutes and I’m spooning this lovely ice cream base into a loaf pan and getting it ready for the freezer.
Now I’ve made this a metal loaf pan and a glass one. I’ll let you know that either will work but I’ve found that the metal loaf pans seem to keep this frozen better than the glass one. However that glass loaf pan sure does look good for photos. haha
Looks at all of those pretty M&M candies in there!
Once you scoop it out I think it’s perfect but if you want to add a little more color just drop a few more M&Ms on top and dig in!
Do you have any other ideas for me? Ice Cream flavors that I should work on? I can’t wait to make more!

Ok, you have convinced me to try no-churn ice cream. I have two ice cream machines, so I think it’s time for me to have a garage sale.

This will be my go-to summer ice cream treat (without the pastel candies, of course). I can see adding all sorts of fun ingredients for all the summer occasions. Love the pastel colors for Easter though.
