A week or so ago my husband and I went to a new place called The Celtic Fringe. It’s a little Irish pud right over the NC line. We fell in love with it. We even went back last Thursday with my parents so that they could try it out. We knew they would love it. We were right.
When it came time for dessert, I wanted to try something new. That’s my goal when I visit a new restaurant I always want to try things on the menu that I don’t normally eat. It’s fun and I always end up with a new favorite.
That’s exactly what happened with this Flourless Chocolate Torte. I had never had one and to be honest I didn’t really even know what it was. I mean, I kind of figured that it was cake like but other than that I didn’t know.
After one bite I knew that I was in love. It literally tasted like I was eating a slice of fudge. Oh my gosh! Hello new dessert love haha.

Thanks! It’s in the oven right now and looks amazing. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
There aren’t words to describe how amazing this is. A small piece is all you need, but the fudgy, chocolatey deliciousness is overwhelming. I had something similar at a 5 diamond resort in Scottsdale Arizona that wasn’t as good as this. The fact that it is so simple also helps wraps this up as one of my favorite desserts of all time! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! (Picture me bowing down to smooch your toesies!
YAY!!! I’m so glad that you liked it!! hugs! I also love the fact that it is so simple to make but taste so, so good!
I made this recipe. Worked great. Had more ganache than I needed, but nothing wrong with that! :). Even my mother-in-law approved. I think you have a winner. Thx for sharing.
YAY! I’m so glad that you liked it!
If this recipe is a rich as the chocolate torte I had at a restaurant a few months back, I want to cut the recipe in half and use my small, 9 inch springform pan instead. How long should I cook the torte if I do this?
Hey Tasha,
I’ve never cut the recipe in half so I have no idea on how long you’d need to cook it if you did that. I’d say, maybe go to 30-35 minutes and then check to see if it is firm or needs to cook longer.
Oh, my after reading this, being the chocolate almost anything lover that I am, I said to myself, “ok, got to have this!” Can’t wait to try it. 🙂
