I’m obsessed with cake mix cookies, y’all! I’ve been making them for a while and I still can’t believe how easy they are and how great they turn out.
What you’ll need to make Chocolate Chunk Chocolate Cake Mix Cookies:
- chocolate cake mix
- eggs
- vegetable oil
- semi-sweet baking chocolate bar, chopped into chunks
How long does it take to make these chocolate cake mix cookies??
It’ll take you about 30 minutes to make these chocolate cookies. It normally takes me about 10 minutes or less to mix up the dough and then 10 minutes in the oven with a few minutes to cool on a wire rack when they’re done baking.
Can you use other cake mixes?
You sure can!! You can experiment with all kinds! I have a feeling that I’ll be making a lot of these this year so you can expect all kinds of flavors and combinations to be hitting the blog.

Cookie chocolate chunk decorating tip!
Once all of the cookie dough has been added to the baking sheet, stick a few more chocolate chunks onto the tops of the cookie dough before it’s baked. This will give them that classic bakery look with the chocolate chunks peaking through on top!

Chocolate Chunk Chocolate Cake Mix Cookies
These Chocolate Chunk Chocolate Cake Mix Cookies easily mixed and baked in about 30 minutes and they're perfect for any chocolate lover! They're soft and packed with chocolate chunks! Preheat the oven to 350F. In a bowl, mix together cake mix, eggs and oil. Mix until fully combined. Stir in 1/2 of the chocolate chunks. Drop 2 tablespoon sized cookie dough balls onto a prepared baking sheet, spacing each cookie about 2 inches apart. Press the rest of the chopped chocolate into the tops of the cookie dough. Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove cookies from the oven and let cool on a wire cooling rack.
