Hannah Montana Cupcakes

Last week was my god-daughter’s 6th birthday 🙂 She wanted a Hannah Montana themed party this year and as I mentioned in my Guitar Cake post, her mother and I were glad that she didn’t want a princess party again this year so Hannah Montana it was!

Just wanted to share a few pictures of the Hannah Montana Cupcakes I made for her party and share the details in case someone else wants to make Hannah Montana Cupcakes or needs ideas.

These are the base cupcakes I made for the Hannah Montana Cupcakes. I made tie-dyed colored cupcakes 🙂
For them I used White Boxed cake mix.
Prepare the boxed cake mix according to the directions on the box. Once you have your batter, separate it into 3 bowls.
1st Bowl– Leave alone (this will be your white)
2nd Bowl — Add Purple Food Coloring and stir until you get the desired shade
3rd Bowl– Add Blue Food Coloring and stir until you get the desired shade.
Fill your cupcakes liners while alternating the different batter colors to create tie-dyed colored cupcakes. Bake according to the box’s directions.

For the icing decorating the top of the cupcakes, I used canned butter cream icing. I filled a piping bag that was fitted with a large star tip with icing. Start Piping from the center of the cupcake outwards in a circle to make the “rose” shape.

If you want to see lots of pretty pictures on how to do them, head on over Amanda’s site at I.am.baker, and she’ll show you how to make them 🙂

I then sprinkled them with purple and pink sanding sugars.
For the cupcake toppers I copied Hannah Montana images from Google into Word and Turned them into circles. Then I printed them.
I used my Cricut to cut out the flower shapes from colored card stock and glued the Hannah Montana Graphics onto the cut out cardstock.

Then I just sandwiched toothpicks between the cutouts to make cupcakes toppers! Super Simple and Easy! Plus You can make any theme you need!!

Meet Angie

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
