Mini marshmallows, mini candy canes, chocolate syrup and a dusting of coco powder are just a few things you can add to your Hot Chocolate Cupcakes to make them extra cute for Christmas.
I really love the candy canes and mini marshmallows on these little desserts! If you’re going to decorate them with mini marshmallows though just remember to keep them in an air tight container or add the marshmallows right before serving so the marshmallows don’t dry out.

Do you have to use marshmallow fluff for the frosting the cupcakes looks so good and delicious can I make them anytime of the year
Hi Elijah! You can use any frosting recipe for these cupcakes. I just like the marshmallow frosting on them to mimic marshmallows on hot chocolate.
can you freeze the icing?
Yes. Freeze it in a air tight container. Let it thaw in the fridge overnight. You may need to re whip it.
Do these cupcakes come out a little flat? I followed the recipe to a T but they are a little flat topped. Just curious.
These cupcakes do not normally have a big dome on them when I make them.
What piping tip did you use to do the frosting?
I used a large star tip for the piping 🙂
Do you have to use extra fine granulated sugar? Our wal-mart here doesn’t carry that – just the standard granulated sugar.
standard granulated sugar will work too 🙂
Looking for the recipe and can not find it.
