Hot chocolate is one of my favorite treats to have in the winter. It’s warm and cozy and just perfect for a snowy, winter night! You know what else is great? Hot Chocolate flavored desserts like these Hot Chocolate Cupcakes!

They’re made with hot chocolate mix and decorated to look like little mugs of toasty warm hot cocoa!

Hot Chocolate Cupcakes

I know that everyone hates the word moist but these cupcakes are! They’re wonderful and not overly sweet! They’re perfect because these Hot Chocolate Cupcakes are topped with a delicious marshmallow frosting that pairs perfectly with these Hot Chocolate Cupcakes.

Ideas for decorating:

Of course you can just bake the cupcakes and frost them with the marshmallow frosting and they’ll be amazing but they’re even better when you dress them up to look like little mugs of hot cocoa!

Mini marshmallows, mini candy canes, chocolate syrup and a dusting of coco powder are just a few things you can add to your Hot Chocolate Cupcakes to make them extra cute for Christmas.

I really love the candy canes and mini marshmallows on these little desserts! If you’re going to decorate them with mini marshmallows though just remember to keep them in an air tight container or add the marshmallows right before serving so the marshmallows don’t dry out.

Hi Elijah! You can use any frosting recipe for these cupcakes. I just like the marshmallow frosting on them to mimic marshmallows on hot chocolate.

Yes. Freeze it in a air tight container. Let it thaw in the fridge overnight. You may need to re whip it.

Do these cupcakes come out a little flat? I followed the recipe to a T but they are a little flat topped. Just curious.

These cupcakes do not normally have a big dome on them when I make them.

I used a large star tip for the piping 🙂

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
