- milk or heavy cream

I use to make a lot of cakes when my god-daughters were younger and used my favorite cream cheese frosting for most of their cakes. While my cream cheese frosting is still a favorite, this Vanilla Bean Buttercream Frosting may have risen to the top of my list over the past few years.

Add butter to bowl of mixer. Beat until smooth. Mix in powdered sugar until combined and smooth. Whip in vanilla paste or vanilla extract. Add milk or heavy whipping cream to thin frosting if needed. Recipe will fill 24 macarons or cover 12 cupcakes
