How to make Jack-O-Lantern Apple Slice Pops:

Slice apples into thick slices and remove seeds. Each apple should give you 4 or so apple slices.
-
Carefully push a popsicle stick into the bottom of each apple slice. Make sure not to break the apples.
-
Pat apple slices dry with a paper towel. You want to make sure you dry them off before dipping them so that the chocolate candy coating will stick to the apples.
-
Melt orange candy coating according to package directions.
-
Dip apples completely in melted chocolate. Tap off excess.
Lay on a flat surface that has been covered with foil or parchment paper (or on a silicon mat). -
If you’re adding a green skittle as a stem on the pops, you’ll want to stick it into the top of the apple before the orange candy coating hardens.
-
Let apple slices sit until chocolate hardens.
-
Melt chocolate candy coating according to package directions.
Let cool for just a minute then pour chocolate into a piping bag. -
Draw a simple Jack-o-Lantern face onto apples.
-
Let apple slices sit until chocolate hardens.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! I actually prefer almond bark for these because it melts so nice and it’s inexpensive.
Regular food coloring is water based and water doesn’t mix well with melted chocolate. That is why you need to use an oil based food coloring to tint chocolate and candy coatings.
Nope! Almond bark does not have almonds in it and it isn’t made with almonds.
