My husband and I are totally different when it comes to getting ready for vacation. Which side are you on?

Packing for vacation...which side are you on?

I’ve always been a traveler.

My dad and mom use to take us everywhere when we were little and I had visited more countries before I graduated from high school than my husband has in his whole life.

My very first plane ride happened when I was 3 years old. That ride happened just because my dad had a meeting a state over and wanted to let take a trip on a plane. haha

I remember tons of trips from when I was growing up.

We went to Holden Beach during the summers, we took trips to Disney World, we visited family in Michigan and pretty much traveled up and the southern east coast for dad’s work conferences. I flew to Canada on mission trips and packed my bags for 2 weeks in Europe when I was in high school.

I took a trip to Cancun for my 18th birthday and my parents flew us to Hawaii for a few days the year I met Thomas.

Thomas didn’t grow up traveling. The first time he got on a plane was after he joined the military.

He loves our trips but he doesn’t have the urge to travel like I do!

Here’s how it goes when we’re getting ready for a trip……….

Packing for vacation...which side are you on?

Thomas pretty much just needs to pack the bags into the car and get in. haha

He’s got it made, I tell ya.  😉

But you know, growing up it was exactly the opposite in my house.

My dad was the ultimate trip planner while my mom packed the bags, got the kids ready kids and got in the car.

I read a post over on Your Modern Day about a Wife vs. Husband when going to bed and It got my brain going! haha I just knew that I had to make my own version as the “Wife Vs. Husband when going on a trip!”

So, tell me….what side are you on?

I’m laughing. We are right in the middle of planning our family vacation and for once we actually split our travel planning fairly equally I think. He booked the plane tickets, I booked our rental house. However, i’ll be the one packing everyone up and making sure everything is ready to go when the time comes!

I am totally on your side on this one 🙂 I always have so much to plan with traveling and with the new situation here with the pets, it’s always planning first then go.

So, the funny thing in my house is that my husband is the planner… he loves researching stuff, so he’s usually the one who researches the places and hotels and things to do, and I have a little more free time so I take care of shopping and booking activities and laundry and whatnot. So I guess it all evens out. 🙂

haha lucky!! My husband does pack the bags and the car but that’s it haha. I can’t even get him excited about vacation until we arrive at our destination! haha

Meet Angie

I love the Farmer’s Market and Farm to Table meals but I’m also not ashamed to use canned vegetables and baking mixes. It’s all about balance! I’m so glad y’all are here!
