Looking for the most adorable way to announce your little one’s gender to the world? We had a Putters or Pearls Gender Reveal Party for our reveal day and I can’t wait to show you the details!
After 10 years of waiting on our miracle baby, the time has finally come for Thomas and I! We’re expecting our first little pumpkin in October. To reveal the gender of our little one, my mom and sister in law put together a Putters or Pearls Gender Reveal Party for us! I loved every little detail of it and wanted to share it with y’all on the blog.
When we found out we were expecting, my sister in law Meghan, was already planning on what we could do for the reveal. We thought of the colored balloon idea, we thought about Thomas shooting a target and busting a paint filled balloon and we thought of the colored smoke from car tires.
However we eventually decided on something we knew that Thomas would love. GOLF! haha We decided that Thomas would hit a golf ball that would explode into which ever color the gender was.
It was perfect. Well and since Thomas likes golf we decided on the Putter and Pearls gender reveal party idea!
I didn’t do anything for the party haha, Meghan and my mom took control (which is weird because I’m the party planner of the family). They did an amazing job!
Oh and guess what….Thomas and I had no idea as to what “Baby Dot’s” gender was. Ahhh haha that’s right!
My sister in law was the only one that knew. When we went to our gender appointment, I took an envelope and gave it to the tech. She printed off the gender for us and sealed it in an envelope. Then Meghan met us at the doctor’s office and took it from us so that we would have no temptation to take a look.
But back to the Party details! When we arrived and my brother and sister in law’s house we were greeted with pink and blue balloons and the cute little signs on the door.
Then it was on into the hallway where we got to pick our “Team”.
A baby picture of Thomas on the left with Team Putter buttons and a baby picture of me on the right with the Team Pearl buttons.
(Unknown to us at the time, but there was a clue on this table as to what our baby’s gender was!)
Aren’t these buttons just the cutest. You can find them on Etsy here.
Thomas and I both went with “Team Putters” buttons. I didn’t know what I was having at the time but since the day we found out I had this mother’s intuition that it was a boy, so I stuck with my “Team Putters” choice.
Next, we’re onto the guest book for the party. We didn’t invite a ton of people, I think we had a max of 20 guest, as we wanted to keep it pretty small, however Meghan still wanted us to have something with everyone’s names.
So we had a B for “Barrett” with pink and blue sharpies for everyone to sign. Plus a sweet little frame with one of our sonogram photos. <3
Then, once we turned the corner into the kitchen, there was the main event table. Ahhh I was in heaven with all of the little details that they put together. If you know anything about me, I’m ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS.
I love the Putter and Pearls Banner! I didn’t even have to ask, I know Meghan bought it from Etsy because she’s obsessed with it haha.
The dessert table was filled with:
- Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes
- Blue and Pink Cotton Candy
- Blue and Pink Rock Candy
- Blue and Pink Butter Mints
- Blue and Pink Hershey Kisses
- Blue and Pink M&MS
- Cake
Plus, the cute little B-A-B-Y letters that Meghan painted for us.
The center piece was this cute little cake with the adorable “What Will Baby Be?” cake topper. I couldn’t find this exact one on Etsy but there are a bunch of cute ones on there.
Putter or Pearls Cupcakes with themed cupcake toppers.
Then we had the colored M&MS haha
Ooo and then my friend surprised me by getting macarons from a bakery in NC for the party! They know how much I love them! If you want to try your hand at making macarons, I have a few tutorials on the blog for them. Click here to get directions for them (you can change them to ANY color you want).
Of course we had colored rock candy on the table.
Plus these little Hershey bars that Meghan colored with blue and pink/purple sharpie so that they would say “He” and “She”.
Aren’t these Hershey kisses with the little reveal party stickers on them cute! See, these are the types of little details that Meghan and Mom know I love. There were stickers with pearls, putters, “Team Pearls” and “Team Putters” on them.
There were also “Baby Dot Reveal stickers” haha. You see, when I had my very first ultrasound, our baby was literally a dot on the screen, so we nick named our baby “Dot” haha.
Well, y’all know I love mason jars, so there were one of those there as well with some beautiful pink, blue and white flowers.
A sweet He or She banner hang above one of the table with some of our sonogram photos attached with pink and blue clothes pins.
Meghan set out this little baby countdown as well.
Also, if you’re throwing a party for an expecting mother, don’t forget a little corsage! <3 I haven’t worn one of these since my bridal shower, 10 years ago and I have to admit that it made me feel pretty special to have my own little mommy-to-be corsage.
This is my brother Adam and my sister in law Meghan, they did so much work for my reveal party! <3 I just love them. Meghan and my mom took care of decorations and planning while Adam manned the grill and cooked up tons of hot dogs and burgers for everyone at the party.
As for the party food menu, they kept it simple! Perfect for a reveal party if you ask me.
- Burgers
- Cheeseburgers
- Baked Beans
- Chips and Dip
- Pimento cheese and crackers (Nicole made the recipe from my blog for the party!)
- Sodas, Water and Beer to drinks
Then it came time for the reveal!
Since it’s Putters or Pearl themed, Thomas hit a “golf ball” to reveal our little baby’s gender.
Meghan bought us a pack of the color powder golf balls. The pack she bought came with a white, pink and blue powdered ball. So when it was time to reveal, my brother put down the golf ball and Thomas gave it a swing.
BAM!
IT’S A BOY!
We’re having a baby boy!
Look at the excitement on Thomas’ face! haha
We would have been happy with either but I think secretly Thomas had been praying for a boy haha. That photo above is now one of my favorite photos of Thomas. That is pure joy right there hahaha.
So, that was our wonderful Putters or Pearls Gender Reveal Party!
Thank you to Meghan, Adam and Momma for everything y’all did! Thank you for everyone that came out to celebrate!
I took a video of the actual reveal if y’all want to see it!
Hope this post will give y’all some ideas if you’re planning your own little Putters or Pearls Gender Reveal Party!

After 5 years we welcomed a baby boy into our family. It was a long and troublesome pregnancy”! Then 20 months later we have another boy with pregnancy problems. We enjoy our sons which are now grown and have children of their own. We have 4 beautitular granddaughters! Their are so many cute clothes for little boys. Their are situations that your boys will come to Mommy for and other situations that they will go to Daddy for. Your life will never be the same because everything will be centered around you child and possibly grandchildren. I wish you and Thomas all the Blessings that God will give you! BTW, Me, my hubby, brother and 4 other family members!

I should have corrected many mistakes and spelling in my comments. 1. Me, my hubby and 4 others have October birthday’s! 2. We have 4 beautiful granddaughters. There are several small mistakes but they are readable so I won’t correct them.

Thank you so much Linda!! I’m so excited but so nervous haha. October babies are wonderful!!
