We’re working on our eating habits…again. Well, I guess I should say that I am working on my eating habits again, BigBear seems to be doing just fine with his and his weight loss. *curse you slow metabolism*  We’ve been working more protein into our diets and and I am trying to cut back on sweets and carbs. *Just cutting back, not eliminating them* It’s a start. *Today I totally grabbed a yogurt and fruit cup over a cupcake on my break, this is HUGE for me* 🙂

With our slow changes, I’ve of course been on the hunt for healthy but tasty recipes. Eating a wedge of lettuce just isn’t going to cut it for me. Sorry, I would be miserable.

But In my quest for healthy foods I’ve been finding a lot of good cookbook options and the one I’m sharing with you today is one of my new favorites. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook then you might already know that I have an obsession with sushi and almost all Asian foods. haha

Jaden’s cookbook, Steamy Kitchen’s Healthy Asian Favorites, has been on my “buy list” for a little bit now ( I am a horrible slacker when it comes to actually buying things, I always tell myself that I’ll do it tomorrow and then tomorrow turns into days, weeks and months lol), but then an opportunity to review it and cook from it for #SundaySupper came about and this beautiful cookbook arrived at my door ready to find a home in my kitchen.

I met Jaden last year at Disney for Food Blog Forum and I must say she is one of the sweetest people that I’ve met since I started blogging. The cookbook is beautiful and I’m so happy for her!! 🙂

Steamy Kitchen Healthy Asian Favorites Cookbook

On to the healthy eating! I want to share one of my favorite recipes from Jaden’s cookbook This Salmon-Honey Teriyaki! BigBear is a Salmon fan, but I hardly ever cook fish in our house.  But that will now have to change!

My husband is 100% in LOVE with this recipe. He devoured it. His rating? “On a scale from 1-10 this is a 20!! I need more!!”

This is so easy to put together and it cooks in mere minutes!

Everything goes into a large resealable bag, marinates in the fridge for a few hours and then cooks in lI served this over couscous**

Salmon-Honey Teriyaki Recipe

  • 3 tablespoons sake
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 pound fresh salmon fillet

Again, my favorite Asian dish is futomaki and I love all the Japanese ingredients listed in your scrumptious looking salmon.

Kudos to your self-discipline too of a fruit cup over a cupcake =)

I like that you served this over couscous. I’m so used to seeing fish over rice but this would be a delicious change. The glaze on that fish looks yummy.

This sounds like my kind of recipe…easy AND delicious! Plus, my husband LOVES salmon. There’s a recipe he makes with coriander that we both really love. I think I just might make this one for us this week and pair it with some rice and spinach. One of my favorite Asian dishes is pad see ew. (Twitter: @kmurrayphoto)

I couldn’t find it at the regular grocery but a local Japanese restaurant sold me some 🙂 Bigger cities probably have it at their ABC store or Asian Market
