Chocolate and Strawberry together is one of my favorite flavor combinations! Plus, I love Nutella! These cupcakes combine all of those loves into a fantastic and beautiful dessert!
What you need for Strawberry Nutella Cupcakes: (amounts in recipe)
- Chocolate Cupcakes (recipe included)
- Nutella®, chocolate hazelnut spread
- Strawberry Frosting (recipe included)
- Fresh Strawberries
Filling Cupcakes with Nutella:
This is how you can easily fill a chocolate cupcake with Nutella!
Once cool the cupcake is cool, use a small knife and carve a plug from middle of cupcake. Don’t toss the cupcake middle because you’ll need it for later, just sit it aside for now.
Then, carefully fill the cupcake with a tiny spoonful of Nutella. Don’t fill it too high but get enough in there to make it worth it. 😉
Then take the part of the cupcake that you removed and press it back into the hole on top of the Nutella to cover it.
You may need to remove part of the cake plug to fit it back in there.
Decorating Strawberry Nutella Cupcakes:
For these cupcakes I use a homemade strawberry frosting, a drizzle of nutella and a fresh strawberry for decoration.
This strawberry frosting is super delicious and I really love it once it’s sat in the fridge for a while but that’s just personal preference.
So to decorate this cupcake, first swirl some of the homemade strawberry frosting on top.
Then drizzle some of the Nutella over the strawberry frosting. I spooned the Nutella into a piping bag to drizzle it over the cupcake but you can also just spoon it into a plastic sandwich bag and cut the tip off to create a piping bag.
Then place a washed and dried, fresh strawberry on top!
I love to decorate cupcakes with the ingredients used in the recipe because that lets people know what flavor they’re getting ready to dive into!
**DISCLAIMER – Nutella is made with Hazlenuts! Nutella is NOT SAFE for anyone with a TREE NUT ALLERGY.
You can also use a nut free chocolate spread in place of Nutella in this recipe!
