The oven is normally packed full with the turkey or ham on Thanksgiving which doesn’t leave much room for side dishes. I love side dishes that can be made on the stove top or in the slow cooker.

Slow Cooker side dishes are my favorite because they’re cooking over on the counter in a Crock Pot out of the way and normally don’t require much maintenance.

While I won’t deny that I love a good broccoli casserole that needs some oven time, I also don’t like having to worry about trying to cook 5 different dishes in the same oven with the Turkey on Thanksgiving.

Some of these are slow cooker recipes and stove top favorites!

So here are 5 Side Dishes for Thanksgiving that DON’T need the oven this year!

I love anything that can be homemade, I mean sure you could by a can of creamed corn, heat it and pour it into a bowl. But I think that everything taste better when it  is fresh and homemade.

4

You can cook these on low for the entire day, or you can start them at lunch time and cook them on high. Either way, they’ll be perfectly cooked and ready for dinner.
