Grinch Fudge Topped Brownies

Y’all, it’s time for another fun and awesome dessert week! This time it’s all about Christmas Desserts and you’re going to fall in love with all of the amazing sweet treats that everyone is making this week.

My friend Terri from Love and Confections is hosting this dessert week and I’m so in love with it.

Grinch Fudge Topped Brownies

I’m starting this Christmas Sweets Week off with these fun Grinch Fudge Topped Brownies!

If you’ve been following my kitchen adventures you may already know that I love making these themed fudge topped brownies. I’ve made Halloween ones, and pretzel fudge brownies, peppermint fudge brownies and now I’m adding Grinch Fudge Topped Brownies to my list.

Grinch Fudge Topped Brownies

You can use a homemade brownie recipe or a brownie mix. I’ve made fudge topped brownies with both and they always turn out great. If you’re wanting to make homemade brownies though, I have an awesome recipe for you to use. You can find the printable version below.

Also, for the green fudge, I used green candy melts but you could also use white chocolate and color it green with green chocolate coloring.

Grinch Fudge Topped Brownies

Grinch sprinkles! Don’t forget those then you make these Grinch Fudge Topped Brownies! I got these from Sweets & Treats! They’re the Christmas sprinkle mix called: “Mean One“, if you’re looking for it.

Grinch Fudge Topped Brownies

While I totally encourage you to get your sprinkles from them because I’m 100% in love with their sprinkles you could also use green sprinkles with some heart sprinkles mixed in.

SPONSORED ITEMS USED IN THIS RECIPE:

  • Yield: 9 - 12 BROWNIES

Ingredients

Brownies:

  • 2 sticks butter, unsalted butter cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla or chocolate extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ounce chocolate syrup

Fudge Topping:

  • 2 cups Green Candy Melting Wafers
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • Grinch Sprinkles

Instructions

Brownies:

  • Preheat oven to 325F.
  • Line 9x9 square baking pan with parchment paper or foil with overlapping ends (this will make it easier to remove the brownies later).
  • In a large bowl, combine the diced butter, sugar and cocoa powder.
  • Microwave and heat for 30 seconds.
  • Stir mixture and microwave for another 30 seconds.
  • Let chocolate mixture cool slightly.
  • When chocolate mixture has cooled a bit, stir in vanilla and salt.
  • Next, stir in eggs.
  • Mix in flour until completely incorporated.
  • Stir in chocolate syrup.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 30-45 minutes until done.
  • Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Fudge Topping:

  • Bring a small pot filled with 2 inches of water to a boil on the stove top.
  • Place a metal or glass bowl on top of the simmering water but don\'t let the bowl touch the water.
  • Add the green candy melts and sweetened condensed milk to the bowl. Stir until melted and smooth.
  • Pour the green fudge over the top of the brownies in an even layer.
  • Grinch sprinkles.
  • Let the fudge cool for at least 4-5 hours before slicing.

My favorite Christmas drink is Alton Brown’s recipe for Egg Nog. It’s hard to drink the store bought stuff after tasting this.

I love the Ritz crackers with peanut butter dipped in chocolate! My sweet mother used to make them and they (and she) were a delight!

My favorite sweets for Christmas or any time of the year is CANDY. To say that I have a sweet tooth is underestimating it’s demands. For years I made fruitcake.. Started in October and bathed it constantly in rum and brandy. It was worth a drink on it’s own. But as years have gone by, I have gone more to experimenting with new recipes. I fix a few of the favorites but other than that, it’s always a surprise.
Wishing all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

My favorite treats are the cream cheese thumbprint cookies I make with homemade jelly and jams, like marionberry and peach.

We always make cherry cheesecake bites, but after seeing the cherry mash truffles we are making them instead. We make root beer float fudge with LorAnn flavor too. Big hit with the grandkids. My mama always gave me a box of Queen Anne cordial cherries in my stocking. She passed over 40 years ago now, but those wonderful memories remain. Merry Christmas and Joyous New Year everyone!
