Snow White is famous for taking a bite of that poison apple! Now you can make your very own “Poison Apple Dust” necklace! Perfect for any Snow White lover!

My love for Disney is no secret. I grew up watching Disney movies, I fell in love with them. I wasn’t caught up in the “one day my prince will come” idea but more into the magic that surrounded the stories. I’ve always been in love with magic. I was the weird little girl singing to the animals like Snow White and getting ticked when they wouldn’t listen haha and many times as a small child I sat by my window hoping that Virginia wasn’t too far away London so that Peter Pan might make an appearance at my house. Of course that didn’t happen, so I gave up on the idea of running away to Neverland and life went on. 😉

Dad had a friend that owned a vacation house in Orlando, so we went to Disney a few times when I was younger. I went once as teenager and we stayed at the Yacht Club Resort and that fueled my love for Disney Resorts, which in turn made me love Disney even more. I went back last year for Food Blog Forum (my first time to Disney as an Adult) and then I took Thomas to Disney this year! (His first time ever!!)

So what does that have to do with making a necklace? Well, it’s the whole reason that I made this necklace.
My love for Disney, and my love for glitter, those two things helped get this going. I use to have a little bottle like this when I was a teen that hang from my rear-view mirror. That one had pink glitter in it and it had a silver dragon that snaked up the bottle. I loved it, but over the years it was removed, moved and then lost. So when I saw some of these glitter bottle necklaces on Etsy.com  I knew that I had to make one.

They are super simple to make! (I might start selling them on Etsy.com, I’m not sure yet. I’ve had a lot of people ask about them, so we’ll see. After everyone sees how easy they are they might end up making some!)

These are the things you’ll need to make one necklace:

1 mini glass bottle with cork (found in jewelry section of Hobby Lobby)
1 charm

1 or 2 round rings (also found in jewelry section of Hobby Lobby)
Glitter
Lot glue gun
labels (that you can run through a printer and print on) (or scrapbook paper and good glue)

Jewelry Making Pliers (I use my husband’s Gerber haha)

1 Chain

Fill the bottle all the way to the top with glitter. I used red glitter here to be the “Poison Apple Dust”. Put a bit of hot glue around the bottom of the cork and push it into the bottle. Hold for a few seconds.

Next, use the pliers to open one one of the silver rings. Slide the charm onto it. I choose a mirror to represent the evil queens’s looking glass.

Then slide the hook on top of the cork onto the ring. (or use a separate ring for the bottle)

Print a tiny label onto label paper. Cut out, peel backing off of label and stick to bottle. Slide bottle and charm onto chain.

Tada. So easy! I’ve made quite a few of these. I love them so much.

I also made some Printable Labels for y’all for the Poison Apple Necklace.

Just click on whichever label you want, then right click and save it to your computer. You’ll want to resize the label in a program like Pic Monkey before you print it out for your bottle.

Size will depend on what size bottle you’re using.

Print them out on scrapbook paper and cut them out before gluing them to your necklace bottle.

This is one of my favorite, this “Wishes” one. It just happens to be the name of the Disney Fireworks haha but it’s really got 3 or so dandelion wishes in it. Can you see them? I’m actually wearing this one today.

This next one comes from my love/obsession with Alice in Wonderland 🙂

And then I made this one… well. Just because. I guess you could say it was for Tinkerbell. But that would really need to be “Pixie Dust” haha 🙂

I’m always looking for new ideas for bottle necklaces! What ideas do you have for me? I’ve also made “Enchanted Rose Dust” for my friend Sarah and I made “Bone Dust” Meghan!

Hope you get to make some. I’ll let you know if I decide to open up shop 😉 *PS if you make any, post them on my facebook page! I’d love to see them!!*

🙂
