I don’t think that I really fell in love with pasta salad until I met my friend Tara when we lived at Camp Lejeune. She introduced me to a boxed pasta salad called “Suddenly Pasta Salad“. I thought it was great and never again did I skip over pasta salad when it was available .
Since then, I’ve moved on from the day of boxed pasta salad and started creating my own versions but those boxes of noodles still have a place in my heart. 😉
QUICK GLANCE AT INGREDIENTS for Instant Pot Pasta Salad:
- 12 oz of tricolor rotini pasta
- 1 cucumber, peeled and diced
- 1 1/2 cups of cherry tomatoes, quartered
- 8 oz of feta crumbles
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup chopped red onion
- 1 1/2 cup of Italian dressing
How to make Instant Pot Pasta Salad:

Pour dry pasta in the bowl of instant pot and submerge in water.
(Add enough water to cover the pasta.) -
Seal lid and pressure valve and cook on high pressure for 6 minutes.

Quick-release pressure and drain pasta.

Run cold water over pasta for a few minutes, drain. Let pasta cool.

Add chopped vegetables and dressing to the pasta and gently fold to mix.

Best served chilled.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can use any short shape of pasta. I wouldn’t use something small like Orzo or anything long like spaghetti for pasta salad. Also I haven’t tested gluten free pasta in the instant pot.
