A hot bacon cheese dip that is sure to be a hit at your next party or dinner! Mix everything together and pop it into the oven for 30 minutes!
I desperately don’t want to be one of those bloggers that uses their blog posts as an online diary that documents their every step of every.
–Yet I find myself doing just that so I’ll have something to write about.
I desperately don’t want to start every post with “I”, because one time I was at a conference and one of the big bloggers said that they immediately stop reading if a blogger always starts with “I” because they’ll most likely only be talking about themselves all the time.
— Yet here I am starting another blog post with “I”.
I desperately want to tell you about all the little (and big things) that are literally eating away at me right now but I can’t because they involve other people and well it probably wouldn’t be very “adult” of me to put them on blast on a public blog, even though I may have seriously considered it after a glass or two of wine.
But I’m not, instead, I’m going to offer up some Bacon Cheese Dip.
Grab a cracker, dig in and let’s get cheese and bacon wasted together.
This Bacon Cheese dip came into my life back in February when I went to a Bridal Show with my future sister in law.
They had all types of vendors, photographers and caterers for the “soon to be bride” to talk with. We were passing through and one of the catering companies caught my eye with their electric blue drinks.
Ok so I wasn’t going to suggest the electric blue cocktails for the wedding haha but I wanted to check them out. So after taking a sip, I thought I’d wander over and see what foods they had to offer.
After tasting a dip that they had to offer, I told the woman that it was absolutely delicious and the food lover in me took control. She handed me another cracker with dip on it and I asked, “This is just so good, is that cream cheese in there, what is this?”
That’s when she raised an eyebrow, scrunched her lips, thrusted her tongs at the name card (which I hadn’t seen) and said “It’s Bacon Dip, that’s all you need to know.” – Well I can’t show the emotion in her voice but it wasn’t a pleasant one.
Whoooo Nelly, I’m not asking for exact measurements and I have no desire to take over the catering industry haha
That’s when I gave half a smile, said, “oook” and went on to look at other vendors.
Y’all this is the second person within the last few months who’s gotten snotty with me for talking about their food…….FOR SAYING SOMETHING POSITIVE about their food and just trying to have a conversation about their food.
If you’re on my Facebook page you might remember a certain biscotti lady from our local Farmer’s Market who got mean with me or taking a photo of her product (I literally wanted to share it on my facebook and tag her business because I actually love promoting local businesses) — yet she kept telling me that I was trying to steal her recipe. *I don’t think one can steal a recipe from a photo*
But I’ll save all of the biscotti lady story for another time.
I have no desire to steal anyone’s recipes. I might ask what’s in something, I might try to making my own based on something I’ve tried and loved but I’m not in the business of stealing recipes.
But then again I still don’t understand why people have secret recipes, well I kinda do but I don’t. I think secret recipes are weird.
I guess I understand if you’re running the catering company and you think someone is out to make ALL THE MONEY from your recipes, but still. Let me tell you, even if you give someone your recipe it’s still highly likely that they’d hire you (and pay you) to make it for their event. Just because someone wants to know your recipe doesn’t mean that they are willing to make said recipe for 100 or more people at a party.
You’ll probably still get the job and then you’ll get even more promotion because people will rave about it since it’s so good and you’re so nice.
Be snarky just because and I can guarantee you that you won’t get that paying job.
Like even if you gave me your recipe, I’m 99% sure that I wouldn’t follow it exactly hahaha.
So anyways, no one wanted to talk Bacon Cheese Dip with me so I decided to make my own. I picked out some of the flavors based on what I tasted, played around in the kitchen and made this Bacon Cheese Dip.
I’m sharing my recipe with you for free. haha Yep, I’m a giver. 😉 What can I say. haha.
So make it, share it, enjoy it but don’t be stingy with it haha. 😉
ps. This is NOT a sponsored post for the Laughing Cow cheese that I have pictured up there. I just wanted you to see what kind I used for this recipe.
Bacon Cheese Dip
I’m linking this recipe to Meal Plan Monday #24
Oh my goodness, this dip looks amazing! This should disappear real quick!
I don’t get secret recipes, either. Wha…? Who benefits?
I see cheddar cheese in the instructions, but not in the list of ingredients. Am I blind?
Nope, that was my fault ( I think) or my blog’s fault haha somehow it got deleted but I fixed it! Sorry! 🙂
Cant wait to make this ,hubby loves bacon , me too ,sorry that person dumped on ur day , I guess we just over look them ,sounds like she missed out, God bless them , and leave them be to their little twisted world lol , keep up the good work , crissy.
Thanks for the laugh and for the recipe. I will for sure try it out. Anything with bacon is good!!! I love your nail polish!
You say add in the Cheddar but how much ?
yikes! so sorry! I don’t know why my blog decided to delete that! I fixed it 🙂
Girl, I hear ya’ on the snarky folks! They need to get over themselves (AND their recipes) and remember that if it’s a business they’re trying to run, they need to come up with a polite way of deferring the question or–as you said–no business for them! And you created a great looking dip here, so there! :o)
Oh my! bacon and cheese in a dip, what’s not to love!
The funniest thing I’ve read in a seriously long time! So, back to the beginning with the “I”…I also do that, and now you reminded me to think about others first when I write a post. But it’s hard to when it’s me putting my story together with my thing I just made ha! So the other thing, I was getting ready to hear the story, and then you switched the dip, ha!! The biscotti lady story is a good one.People do get sensitive with something they make, maybe for fear you will start to make it and not give them credit?Fantastic party dip!!
I think if you don’t want to talk about what is in your food you have something to hide or you are selfish and don’t want anyone to have the recipe. That’s crazy! Bacon dip is meant to be shared!
What a great idea on how to use those little cheeses.
Bacon wasted… lol. Let’s do it.
Half the time I never know what to write for each post so I feel your pain 🙂 This dip was already fantastic but even when you threw in bacon!
It is too bad about the lady, I don’t think there’s any completely original recipes left. Anyone with some cooking knowledge can figure out how to adapt or approximate things. So it’s silly to act like they’re state secrets or something. I think you did great with your version!
Mmm. . . cheesy bacon! This is a perfect party dip!
How weird. I’ve known folks, restaurants, whatever to have secret recipes but not to be so snotty about it. And secret recipes don’t bother me one bit — but attitude does. Fortunately, you have a good one, and your dip looks delightful.
I have So much to say! First…BACON!!! Bacon always makes me happy…I want a BIIIIIG scoop! 2nd, I love hiding a round of garlic & herb Laughing Cow in my fridge, just for me and my fav cracker for TV munching lol! And OMG…that lady?? Is she for real? I WISH I had been right next to you to experience that then reenact it over a glass or three of wine!
You had me at bacon…this looks amazing!
SERIOUS crave-alert going on here. Looks like this dip would taste good on ANYTHING.
