It’s finally December, which means all of the Christmas and holiday recipes are flooding the internet! I’ve been sharing Christmas recipes and Winter DIY crafts for a few weeks now but we can finally yell, “MERRY CHRISTMAS” and put up the decorations, because it’s December! haha
It’s also a special day because today is the first day of this year’s #ChristmasSweetsWeek – follow the hashtag on social media for new and fun holiday recipes all week! I’m starting the week off with Toy Soldier Frosted Brownies and these couldn’t be easier to make!
These Christmas Toy Soldier Brownies would be super cute for Christmas, a Holiday dessert table or a Nutcracker themed party!
What you’ll need for Toy Soldier Frosted Brownies: (amounts below in recipe)
- Brownies (recipe links and ideas below)
- 1 cup vanilla frosting (recipe links and ideas below)
- Gummy Toy Soldiers (You can find these online or at Kroger)
- Christmas Red, White and Green Sprinkles
- Piping Bags
- # 32 Open Star Tip
What Brownies should I use for these Toy Soldier Frosted Brownies?
Just like with the Christmas Light Brownies and the Easy Christmas Tree Brownies, you can use almost any type of brownie for this dessert.
You can find favorite brownie recipe to the bottom of this post but any brownie recipe will work.
YOU COULD ALSO USE THESE FUN BROWNIE RECIPES:
Lets decorate these cuties!
Fill a piping bag, fitted with a # 32 Open Star Tip, with 1 cup vanilla frosting. Pipe zig zags of frosting on top of the brownie.
THE PIPING TIP:
I’ve been using the # 32 Open Star Tip on frosted brownies for a while now and I love the look that it gives them.
Place a Gummy Toy Soldiers (You can find these online or at Kroger) in the middle of the frosted brownie.
Add Christmas sprinkles.
Boom! Done!
Christmas Brownies don’t get easier than that! Ok, well maybe they do if you use bakery brownies as your base! haha
What if I can’t find gummy toy soldiers?
These little Gummy Toy Soldiers can be found online or at Kroger grocery stores. However, if you don’t want to order them online and if you can’t find them at Kroger, here are some other ideas:
You can make your own Tiny Royal Icing decorations for your brownies. I did this for some apples with my ABC brownies but be aware that these little decorations take time to dry before you can use them. Lisa from The Bearfoot Baker has an amazing tutorial on how to make small royal icing transfers with a stencil.
Love Chocolate? You could also use a Toy Soldier Lollipop Chocolate Candy Mold and Candy melts to make chocolate soldiers for the brownies.
What Frosting to use for these Toy Soldier Frosted Brownies?
I used canned frosting!
To frost 9 brownies you only need about 1 cup of frosting, maybe 1 1/2 cup and I didn’t want to make a whole batch of frosting for just a cup.
If you’re making a big batch of the brownies you may need more frosting and you can find some awesome recipes here:
- Vanilla Bean Frosting (Pumpkin Spice Macaron recipe)
- Cream Cheese Frosting (Hummingbird Cake recipe)
